It really was. Edith hates me, and I seem to have an extreme case of foot in mouth disease.
So to hell with it. Time for baking.

I am baking the divine Miss Nigella's Chocolate Marmalade Cake:

Ingredients:
125g of unsalted butter
100g of dark chocolate
300g of good quality orange marmalade
150g of sugar
a pinch of salt
2 large eggs
150g of self-rising flour

It's fine, I'm covered in flour anyway. Which always happens to me.
It's really good, and works with any sort of jam/jelly, as far as I know.
