So. I would like to tell you all about clipping sting ray barbs.

We have to clip the barbs off the tails of the sting rays in our touch tank, lest they accidentally stab someone while they're being petted. We have two different kinds of stingrays, southern sting rays and cow nose rays.

I heart your aquarium posts. What kind of clippers do you use? I'd imagine they are something like bolt cutters, basically long-handled wire cutters, but for really heavy wire (or bolts!). That's the sort of thing I use on the steel stuff for my sculptures. Maybe you have the bull-nose sorta ones that have the curved blades. Those would probably make it easier. Either way, having a dull set bites it. At least my steel doesn't try to wiggle out from under me, but there's lots of annoying positioning needed sometimes anyway. Argh.

Your tales of work are so vicariously exciting.I make sandwhiches, and sling coffee. Waaah. In a couple of checks - and a couple of months, I'll have a basic EMT certification, at least, and then it will be time for the fire department.
