Started road tripping around the South yesterday!

Gotta keep this short.

The heat and humidity is oppressive. Good god.

The cicadas hatched last month and the disgusting little creatures are fucking EVERYWHERE. Do you know about those? Look them up if you don't. As much as they freak me out, the scientist in me is kind of marveling at the fact ( Read more... )

I'm surprised you're not going to the GA Aquarium in Atlanta. It's kind of expensive but pretty fun. I'm glad you're having such a great time!

Ha ha, we didn't end up really eating anywhere in Nashville. e got there, went to a couple bars, line danced, then left. We got fast food on the way to Chattanooga.

I really wanted to go to Loveless's Cafe, but by the time we were hungry, it was closed. :(

lols, rock city. I like ruby falls better, it's under-in the mountain that rock city is on. Missed out on the TN aquarium? I haven't been there or Atlanta's, but New Orleans' was small but fun. :3

Rock City was pretty spectacular though! Yeah, we passed on the TN aquarium, but that's good, because we ended up at the Georgia Aquarium instead. :)

Cool! Georgia's bigger, I've heard, and of course, much newer. I wanted to see it for my birthday, but we could only do Medieval Times. :P

Nashville is nuts, man. A friend of mine works as a studio and road musician for various artists. He had a music party a few years ago, and I got to go. He invited all his musician friends, and it was the most ridiculous assemblage of talent to ever grace a garage. These random dudes were all guys who had played as backing musicians for big name country guys. There was a guy who played keyboards on Brian Setzer's Sun Records album, the guitarist from the Wallflowers "Bringing Down the Horse" album, and the woman who sang on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack. Craziness.
