Got my dad the Janis Joplin Box of Pearls box set for his birthday today. This isn't the first time I've heard him say "Sweet!" about something I've gotten him, but it is the first time I've heard him say it the way I would about say, a shiny new laptop. I think I done good. :B

Saw it streamed live on the internet with a supposed alternate ending. It's not quite up to the hype I've heard but it still made me very, very tense. If it wasn't for the shaky-cam I'd go see it in the theater because the effects must be even better in there, lots of subsonics.

I bought some off Think Geek and they do NOT lie. Lemons tasted like the most perfectly sweetened lemonade ever. Extra stout beers were almost offputtingly sweet. Orange juice was like liquid candy! This is awesome, but I'd better not overdo it or I'll burn my tongue. ...also, I am afraid of trying a dill pickle.

I must once again do the ancient song and dance of frustration over the fact that my classmates CANNOT READ SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. *hem, caps off* The teacher called for us to create a mathematical expression for our fellow classmates to simplify that includes both scientific notation AND at least one of the rules of exponents. Ponyo is showing at the Abingdon Regal and White Marsh's Loews theaters! Yay, they finally learned that Ghibli is a generally family friendly cash cow. :B This weekend will be a mood whiplash weekend for me! District 9 late on Saturday, Ponyo on Sunday!

Mission 'Dye the Hat' is a success! And if the coat fails I'll wear a red t-shirt and just tell people Carmen doesn't want to die of heat stroke. Too bad Otakon banned signs, or I'd carry a double sided "Where in the world am I?/Ask me where I hid Waldo".

If the hat and coat take dye properly then Carmen Sandiego shall roam the halls of Otakon, confuse Hellsing fans, and contemplate stealing the whole shebang.
