Whilst you are all sound asleep...

This on the first understanding that I nearly thought it all over before it even started... A thought that cropped up as I was hauled out of the check-in queue by Delta airlines staff as it materialised that I had not done an ESTA. Which they ( Read more... )

It's been very good... but day of the dead was a tad disappointing to be honest - will catch up with a post on that as soon as I can (since I know many were curious about it).

Had a slightly hairy time on the day of the dead night - but otherwise all's been really good! :-)

I did fill in the ETSA form, and it still took 2 hours and two separate interrogations by officials of the Department Of Home-Grown Insecurity before they let me into the USA.

Frankly, I would've been quite happy to be turned away on this occasion, since aside from visits to my wife's Grandmother (in which I play the part of Nice British Chap In The Background) I've mostly been sitting in a motel going quietly out of my mind.

Glad you're having an interesting time. Every day is the day of the dead in Westport, Connecticut!

That's because you're a dodgy looking goth, ha ha! I remember how they hand picked me out of the LA check-in queue (back in the nineties) with saucer eyes (clearly expecting some sort of jackpot when going through my luggage). Because clearly I would demonstrate my evil intentions by wearing all over black....

If it makes you feel better in your motel, the day of the dead proved a little bit of a disappointment ~ I hope to catch up with that in a day or two.
