Yeah, I like Jillian's best, too. Christian's did look rather all the same. I mean, I know they're supposed to have a theme or whatever, but are they really supposed to look essentially alike? Also, that one with the ruffly beige thing around the model's neck scares me; it looks like it ate her. :-)
It seems like he didn't quite get the whole "collection" thing. At least the way I understand what a collection is supposed to be. The way they've described it is that a collection is something that looks like it'd all come from one person's closet. Everything fits together in that way. And I just can't imagine that one person would have basically the same 7 outfits.
And the ruffly beige thing did probably consume the model. :D
I actually haven't been following this show closely lately. I sorta kinda forget.
But dude. Sweet P was a fashion train wreck. I have never seen anything I like out of her. I couldn't even make it past the plaid pants. Heh.
I'm with you about Jillian's collection. I don't like the style personally, but it was the one with the best variations and seemed the most viable. I actually liked Chris's for the most part, I don't feel his were as dated as some of the sheer poofy shoulders others seemed to favor. (Seriously, I felt like Christian's collection was a time warp to the 80's. Heh.) The only complaint I could see coming out of Chris's is that it's very goth. Not sure how well that would go down with the judges.
Also, I really know nothing about fashion or sewing, and so I'm just going on what appeals to me and nothing more.Heh. The extent of my fashion experience is as an assistant manager in a women's outlet, which is to say none at all. Seriously. I dealt with drag queens and little old blue haired ladies fighting over the last

I was never all that impressed with anything she did, really.

I'm not sure I'd wear any of it either, but yeah. Nice variation but seemed like it all worked together.

The judges did comment on that in this last episode when he showed three of the pieces. I mean, that was his intent and he said that, but they didn't really care for the darkness of it too much.
Jillian's was by far my favorite collection. Several of her coats and a couple of her dresses were just stunning. I LOVED IT.
*nods* It really surprised me, I think because most the time on the show I barely paid attention to Jillian.
Too much velvet
Yes. Very much so.
I loved the two things he created in the olive green color.
I liked the first green one because the top was really interesting. Very different and cool-looking. The second one I wasn't wild about the top part, but really like the bottom half.
Again, I love her personality, but her fashion wasn't... great.
Gah. The more I see these pictures, the more I ADORE Jillians stuff. I was never exceptionally pleased with her work in the show, but this final work is fantastic. I would totally shell out money for that coat with the red trim (even if it does have those slightly odd holes in the sleeves).
Christians was more of the same blah blah to me. I always really liked what he made but I don't think I would wear any of this. Too much of it was the "man trying to make feminine clothes, that were still manly." And just...girls do that much better. They just came off as too harsh. If I wore any of that I'd have a huuuuugeeeeee bitch label, lol.
The only thing of Rami and Chris's that I liked was the red folded shirt (Rami) and the flapper-esque tan and black hair dress of Chris.

That coat is pretty cool, isn't it? My favorite was the fact that it had that red lining.

I can't remember a single thing of Christian's that I'd actually wear. But I did tend to like his stuff.

Is that the one with the high collar? That was a bit too 70s/Dynasty for me. Hmm. Maybe that's why I'm not too wild about Rami's stuff - a lot reminds me of stuff my mom wore in the 70s when I was wee.

I did rather like that one, especially seeing it on last night's episode.
Ha ha ha. Yes. I think I liked it because of the 70's ness of it. That and it was such a pretty red color. For lord knows why, I am completely smitten with red silk.
