When I don't come here often I tend to forget just what is so important about this place for me

I think that's why I take self portraits - to prove I'm here and someone noticed, even if that someone is me

I totally understand that.

The more of a loner you are or have been -- especially when you were like that as a child I think -- the more used you become to being your own source of recognition.

That's not always a bad thing though, unless you do too much of it maybe
