Aww, Sam. Poor Sam. Yes, in your fic, this would be before he gained even more confidence than he’d have at this point.
Samwell looked up at her, pointing at Jorah. "He is your husband, Princess Daenerys? Lord Commander Mormont's exiled son? Ser Jorah?"
His reaction humoured me. It seems like everyone but Dany had been aware of Jorah’s past, making his ‘redemption’ in her eyes even more powerful.
Quite to Jorah's surprise, young Samwell did not cringe back from him, a stammering craven; instead his soft features hardened with a man's resolve

Wow. Can't believe that will be my last umlaut-flailing about AYFN. This is a momentous occasion. *brings out the champagne*
But this epilogue truely deserves all the flailing, umlaut or otherwise, and so much more!!! I'm so glad that I decided to remain spoiler-free for this one, becuase it gave me the opportunity to end your story the way I began it. Not knowing what to expect and completely falling in love with it.
That ending.... I don't even know how to describe its perfectness!!! Sam finding them, and the idea of using the dragons to fight the White Walkers!!! This is sheer brilliance, and I feel really stupid for never even having thought of such a solution. It's just so simple and elegant to have the dragons end up guarding the wall. And it frees up Dany and Jorah to end up where I always wanted them to: on Bear Island!!!
Thank you for this perfect ending to an epic story, my dear.

I'm so pleased you were surprised and happy with the ending; I had hoped it wouldn't be totally predictable, yet I didn't want it to be out of the blue, either, so I'm really happy you kind of had a "duh!" moment over it. Thank you so very much for your lovely words, my dear. *bearhugs*
