"M-maester Aemon," stammered the stranger in a cracking voice that either confirmed Jorah's guess about his age, or marked him a coward. Or both.

Aww, Sam. Poor Sam. Yes, in your fic, this would be before he gained even more confidence than he’d have at this point.

Samwell looked up at her, pointing at Jorah. "He is your husband, Princess Daenerys? Lord Commander Mormont's exiled son? Ser Jorah?"

His reaction humoured me. It seems like everyone but Dany had been aware of Jorah’s past, making his ‘redemption’ in her eyes even more powerful.

Quite to Jorah's surprise, young Samwell did not cringe back from him, a stammering craven; instead his soft features hardened with a man's resolve

Yup, progress even now. :)

"Wights!" cried Dany, and Jorah knew she would think of nothing now but what she had seen in the House of the Undying.

To be fair, there were few other things she thought of anyway.

"No," said Samwell. His pink tongue darted out to moisten lips chapped from the salt of the sea and the air, as his eyes flicked to Dany. "But there's still work you can do in the North. You and Princess Daenerys. Winter has come…"

:| Too true. On both accounts.

”I thought you had no wish to conquer the people of Westeros with fire and blood?"

"Not to conquer," she said. "To deliver."

*grins very, very wide*

Thank you so very much, m'dear! You've read this fic from the very beginning and not missed a chapter, and I'm just so very pleased you liked how I wrapped everything up. :)
