The articleSo how do you guys feel? Kid wasn't an organ donor, doctors guilted the father into signing organ donor papers, and allegedly took them before he was even dead (might have been necessary or better to take live "fresh" organs over recently deceased people's organs, I dunno bout that shit) and in fact he could've lived (regardless of how ( Read more... )

Fuck I believe it. My older brother is a doctor, and follows more unconventional means of treatment (what's the word... homeopathy?--natural remedies vs medication) and has to keep it on the hush otherwise he'll never be able to be a doctor anywhere.

Because he'd had so many problems with his heart and kidneys my dad wasn't able to donate organs when he passed, but we did donate tissue -- they took skin grafts for burn victims, his corneas and eyes and bones for grafts. I know it freaked some of my dad's family out but its what he wanted and my mom and the rest of us fully supported that.

As far as organ donation -- a friend of mine committed suicide a few years ago. He hung himself and his mom wanted to donate his heart and internal organs. He was legally brain dead but they had to leave him hooked to the ventilator to harvest the organs so his 'body' seemed like it was alive. At the last minute his mom changed her mind because she said even though she knew he was 'dead' -- that his brain wasn't functioning at all and his body was only responding to the machines forcing it to continue functioning, that she wanted to see him take his last breath before they harvested the organs and they can't do it that way. Is that what you mean by still being 'alive'?

The article doesn't specify, if they're filing a lawsuit I doubt it though.

As with anything in this world, there's always the possibility of foul play.

Hot of your dad to do that though, lot of people are getting help from him in a way he probably couldn't have touched them before. Props for that.
