Took me two and a half hours (plus all the times before), but I FINALLY learned how to stop on my left foot (ice skating). And at a pretty fast speed too. Skating without gloves and a stick is always so weird though, eh? Phil Esposito said he never once skated without a stick and probably wouldn't be able to skate without one

Play ice... no contest. Roller's okay, but what makes hockey so special is the fact that you're playing on ice. If you have a chance to play on ice, you should do it... there are so many good leagues and house-leagues and stuff in this area... and everyone's really nice. Ice, ice, baby.

Ice is cool and all but roller's more fun, maybe partly because I am SO MUCH BETTER at roller than I am at ice... I dunno, roller is just pure offense, and it's fun.

Maybe part of me is still bitter my parents weren't willing to spend money on ice hockey equipment growing up? (But a $4,000 viola = completely fine)

Doesn't Esposito now own the Lightning? Or at least partially own them?
