I've never hated Dean but I genuinely hate him for that.
She killed low-life asshole drug dealer/pimp types and honestly they do more harm in the world on a daily basis than Amy Pond. Maybe she would kill again, but if she did, she would pretty much just eradicate another scumbag. I hate Dean more for A: creating a monster by destroying the innocence of the little boy and B: deciding that Amy is a worse monster than the human monsters she killed, than anything having to do with her being Sam's old flame.
