You pointed out a lot of the same symmetry and gaping plot holes that I saw... especially how the end of the episode has Cas effectively trapped in his own head with/by Hallucifer with Meg watching over him which mirrors when Luci trapped Cas in Holy Oil and Meg was there taunting him.

I have an idea in my head that somehow Meg (who I hate beyond reason but love to hate) will be inadvertently responsible for breaking Cas out of Hallucifer's clutches. I can only wish for her to get knocked into holy fire and Cas walks out over her downed body... again.

I can only hope that you’re right and Meg (who I hate beyond reason and have no love for) will be inadvertently responsible for breaking Cas out of Hallucifer's clutches.

I will second the wish for her to get knocked into Holy Fire and Cas to walk out over her downed body... again. *Evil Laugh*

PS - I adore the term Hallucifer!

Please immediately accept my ((((HUG)))
Now, you must also know that the return of the trenchcoat was not just superman getting his cape returned.
It showed Cas that Dean saved what he could of his angel, that Dean treasured it enough to move it with him everywhere he went. And the return of it means that Dean welcomes and takes Cas back --warts and all and Cas gets the same clean slate Dean gave everyone else.

Of course they called Daphne. someone had to provide insurance info. (which she did, but then she decided to meet up with Freddie at the Malt Shoppe and see if they could rekindle their past love.)

Remember Cas is stronger than Sammy so he will deal better with Luci in his head with diamonds and oldies.

ps. instead of wake up little susie it will be Angel of the Morning

Yeah, there's that other demon thing, but I'm exercising my right to ignore her existence.

I hope she and Freddie will be happy together - They say, “Once you go Trenchcoated Angel, you never go back.”

I just think Cas is in such a bad place and he already blames himself so much - His hallucination of Lucifer (his own inner demon) will amplify all of that and I don’t know how he will handle it. I can’t stand seeing him broken. He needs a hug STAT! - Don’t worry, I volunteer to do it.

PS - *Giggles*

They say, “Once you go Trenchcoated Angel, you never go back.” True that! howevs... she didn't get a trenchcoat, she got weird blue sweaters so Daphne and Freddie have a definite chance of working.

Although I said I'd ignore her, I must say her calling Cas a 'tree topper' made me snort loudly!!

…she didn't get a trenchcoat, she got weird blue sweaters - Is it wrong that I feel kind of bad for her now? Well, at least she can have a long bright future with Freddie!

If I hadn’t been seething with angst at her continued existence - I would have found it humorous as well ;)

Ok, Mrs C, I thought that it was a fantastic epi. In fact, I think that because Show used the Emanuel name (which means God with us) is a subtle hint to the possibility of Cas being God. And Dean even asked him that once. Remember? Cas has done so much that a lower echelon angel would normally have no power of doing. Think about it. Michael is one of the highest ranking angels and Luci was God's favorite at one time. They're both angels but yet they can't get out of the Pit. Yet Cas can charge Hell and lift Dean from perdition? Cas can enter the Pit and bring Sammy out of it? Who else has that kind of power? Crowley doesn't. Neither do the boys anymore. They had to break the Lilith seal and get the rings in order to open it the first time. They may still have the ring gizmo thing but it won't work now ( ... )

I liked the nods to past episodes that were contained within. However, the episode just didn’t work for me. I just feel like some characters are given a get-out-of-jail-free card when others are vilified.

I hate Meg. I hope Gabriel comes back and defeats the leviathan (the Talmud) - Then saves Cas and smites Meg!

When Luci said "Hello, Brother", didn't that just give you the coldest chills right down your back? That tells me that maybe Sam wasn't just HelLucinating after all. Maybe it was some interactive aspect Luci has set up to stay in contact with Sam out of the Pit. And if so, then he'll be interacting with Cas. Maybe that's why Meggo wants to hang around. If she can figure out a way to pop Luci out of the box, then Crowley will be too busy going to ground somewhere where Luci won't find him to have time to go after Meg. - That is a VERY interesting thought!

IKR! It would also be a way to have a story line for season 8. I'm just sayin'...
I believe Gabe is alive. He's the Trickster isn't he?

How is Emmanuel under the radar? Dean heard about him from another human, there was a demon stationed at the house (possibly by Crowley) and Meg knows. - *shakes head at Winchesters*

I want to believe that someone sent a message to Daphne. - They dropped Daphne so quickly that Emmanuel didn't even have to be married for the plot to work, so why introduce her in the first place? I really hope they told her, though, at least so she wouldn't start a manhunt for her husband and the man who kidnapped him.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you - I’ve been ill.

Unless it’s meant to symbolize how when they leave the “Life”, they all magically become involved in some sort of serious relationship / family - Sam and Jess - Dean and Lisa - Emmanuel and Daphne *Shrugs*

No worries! I hope you're feeling better now. *huggles*

they all magically become involved in some sort of serious relationship / family - Sam and Jess - Dean and Lisa - Emmanuel and Daphne - *frustrated sigh* The Emmanuel and Daphne married especially it taking a lot of suspension of disbelief because a) it was only six months, b) he had amnesia and she's the first person he saw so there's a lot of issues there, and c) if they didn't know who he legally was (he showed up naked, after all) he couldn't get married. It just looks so messy for such a little thing. Emmanuel could have been single, doing anything else, working at a community center and it would have been simpler.
