Supernatural Episode: Hello, Cruel World Fangirlishness…
The Show That Obliterated My Heart…
As previously mentioned, my heart is completely broken and I found it very difficult to pay attention to a lot of this episode…Also I may have had trouble seeing through my tears.
I don’t appreciate Dean making jokes about Leviathan!Cas exploding - YOU MOCK MY PAIN, SIR. NEVER DO IT AGAIN!
Lucifer is amazing! So very BAMF!
OKAY, MY WORLD JUST SHATTERED AND ALL DEAN CAN SAY IS DAMN IT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Then they just start talking about Leviathans in the water supply. DID YOU MAYBE NOTICE THAT THE ANGEL THAT SAVED ALL OF YOUR ASSES REPEATEDLY IS GONE.
The trenchcoat…I can’t…*Sobs Uncontrollably*
Dean thanks for finally showing a little emotion.
Dean retrieves the much beloved and abused trenchcoat from the water. He tries desperately to grasp, that this is it. The coat has always been the symbol of the angel’s steadfast presence, but now it is and always will remain empty. “Okay. So, he’s gone.” Dean’s voice shakes.
“Yep, Rest in peace, if that’s in the cards.” Bobby says tentatively.
Dean rolls the fabric in his hands and fights to keep his emotions in check. “Dumb son of a bitch!” He spits out as angrily as he can, because anger will carry him through the latest apocalyptic threat hanging over their heads. Much later, when Bobby and Sam are asleep, when the world is dark and empty, only then will he let the anger go and feel the loss. His hand reflexively caresses the cold wet fabric before he can stop it. Now is the time for anger. Now is the time to fight. The time for everything else will come after.
Bobby speaks, but the words don’t register. Dean can’t listen to muttered words of condolence…Not yet. So he just solemnly marches away from Castiel’s watery unmarked grave.
I KNEW THAT MY SWEET FICTIONAL MISTER WASN’T GOING TO MAKE IT OUT OF THIS EPISODE, BUT I THOUGHT WE AT LEAST STILL HAD FORTY MINUTES TOGETHER - BEN EDLUND THERE ARE NOT WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY INFURIATION! *Is Pissed*
Sam and the damn wall is the crap storyline that won’t die! Dean if you want something to gank how about that part of the plot! Although, Lucifer is fantastic!
Since the writers abused and misused Memento so heinously last season, I guess they are going after Inception this season. However, it’s also a bit like the Doctor Who episode Midnight (Squee Colin Morgan) which was written by Russell T. Davies, who quite famously loves character death…Speaking of character death - CAS IS DEAD AND THAT GOT MENTIONED ONCE! *Rants*
Bobby for the most part respected Dean’s right to the Winchester’s trademark self-destructive grief, but he couldn’t watch Dean go through the motions anymore. Sorrow was going to swallow him whole, if he didn’t do something other than bottle it up. “How are you?”
“Who cares? Don’t you think our mailbox is a little full right now? I’m fine.” Dean answered without conviction.
“Right and weren’t you pissed at him when he said the same thing just a couple of hours before he spilled his marbles all over the floor?”
“Yea, well, I’m not Sam. Okay, I keep my marbles in a lead freakin’ box. I’m fine. Really.”
“Of course. Just lost one of the best friends you ever had, your brothers in the Bell Jar, and Purgatory’s most wanted are surfing the sewer line. But, yea, yea I get it you’re fine.”
“Good.”
“Of course if at any time you want to decide that’s utter horse crap, I’ll be where I always am. Right here.”
The wounds were still too fresh. Dean needed to get some distance before he could even begin to articulate what he felt, so he deflected with humor, “Well, you wanna do couples yoga or you want to get back t hunting the big bads?”
“Shut up, Idgit.” Bobby knew that Dean wasn’t ready to talk yet, but he would be there when he was.
Seriously, that’s it. Cas is dead and he get like three lines of dialogue?!? - BTW I am thrilled that Dean is getting closer to admitting the nature of their relationship, by not negating Bobby when he said Cas was one of the best friends Dean ever had.
The Dr. Sexy thing is gross and creepy.
It’s so hard to pay attention and care when Cas is gone.
“You know, I really think Prince William has found the right girl.” Lucifer grins fondly. - I love it! I JUST WISH THAT LUCIFER’S AWESOMENESS WASN’T MARRED BY THE LOSS OF MY BELOVED.
I do feel bad, because I want to care more about Sam, I just can’t right now.
Bobby!?!?!?!?!?!? Yea, because I can handle that right now *SOBS*
Dean’s call to Bobby killed me just a little bit more *Whimper *
This episode was not well thought out - I emotionally have nothing left for Sam and Dean.
I did like episode of Buffy they appear to be ripping off for 07x03 *Shrugs*
There was a brief moment, before all hope was forever eclipsed in my heart that maybe CROWLEY SAVED BOBBY AND THE TWO OF THEM ARE SHACKED UP IN THE CAMPER as we speak. It was so adorable, it made my chest ache.
Bobby drinks his third tumbler of Scotch for the day, still shaking from his latest near death experience. Crowley shoots him a glare and he knows the demon is mentally calculating how much of his meager stockpile of Craig has been diminished since he saved the hunter from the smoldering wreck that used to be his home, “There’s no time like the present to get used to the good stuff.” He raises his glass in a silent toast and grins as Crowley rolls his eyes.
I Now Have A List Of Demands:
1. I want a mood theme that more accurately captures my mood at times like this - Example: Wretchedly Heartbroken.
2. A magic spell that would make my eyes not swollen.
3. I’m going to need a truckload of schmoopy Merlin AUs.
4. An unlimited supply of the following to fuel my crazy theories:
a. Glitter
b. Rainbows
c. Unicorns
d. Mountain Dew
5. My heart to not be broken into a million tiny shards!

ONLY AN ANGEL CAN LOVE YOU FOREVER - ONLY I CAN LOVE AN ANGEL FOREVER
Theories/Ideas/Wishes Or More Accurately Titled Random Run-On Sentences Of Hope That Will Most Likely Be Spectacularly Dashed To Bits, But I Cling To With Every Fiber Of My Being:
(I am spoiler free, so this is just my random ideas)
1. Where I save the day and bring back Characters:
Towards the end of the season, like when there are only three or four episodes left, this is what I hope for: Bobby and the boys show up at a warehouse that is supposed to be the location of the big bad Leviathan boss. Crowley appears and tells them the Leviathans have been ganked. They all look suitably impressed and then Crowley’s says, “Sadly, I can’t take all the credit. I had help.”
Gabriel skips into the room like a boss, “Miss me, boys?”
They all talk for a bit about whatever their next threat is, but none of that matters, because Cas slowly enters looking tired and broken. Before he can speak Dean launches himself at the angel and glomps him like no tomorrow. Several hours later when the hugging is finished, Dean pulls the trenchcoat out of his duffle bag and wraps it around Cas, while I cry tears of joy.
2. If somehow Leviathan!Cas exists and is acting as the boss:
I think there is a possibility that they (the Leviathans) will attempt to work with Crowley. He has connections, he is VERY resourceful, and he would be all too easily double crossed.
I think Crowley would agree to it, because of the following:
a. God!Leviathan!Whatever!Cas threatened to kill him and had the juice to do it.
b. He realizes that it isn’t Cas doing these things and he wants to save him - There is maybe just a tiny speck left of Cas.
c. Cas’ opinion of Crowley at the end was that he was low, underhanded, and such - The Leviathans would have liked those traits.
3. Why bring Cas back at the end of 07x01:
The other times he was brought back you could explain as he was needed to avert all of the many apocalypse attempts and Heavenly reorganization, but 07x01 why bring him back for those two glorious seconds?
What if it goes back to Cas being too close to those in his charge? The Leviathans have his memories and they specifically want to kill Bobby, Dean, and Sam. It could be that the end of this battle will mirror 05x22 when Sam was able to overpower Lucifer after seeing his army man in the Impala. If Cas is somehow still alive and the Leviathans know that his profound bond with Dean could trigger something that makes him overpower them, that could explain part of why he was brought back. It also uses the symmetry that the writers are so fond of.
