Seriously. . .after I wrote that entry, I decided to look back in livejournal land . . .and eerliy enough I had posted an entry, on June 13th, at the same exact time, and at the end it said I was going to the West End to celebrate Vanessa's birthday. I really am surviving "groundhog day," or so it seems.

For the past two days, I've had a significant case of deja vu. Like this morning. . .the Revival Tent is back up on the Common. Tonight my friends are throwing a "goodbye to Suzy for the summer" dinner. . .and I feel like I've been through this all before and very recently. But that was a whole year ago. This morning on the walk to work there was a guy standing in the middle of the path and he tried to hand me a tract, saying "good news for you" and I smiled (hugely) and said I actually work for the church right over there and he gave me a confused look and said "so you're saved then, are you?" slightly skeptically ( Read more... )

It's a little after 1PM and I am absolutely enjoying life. . .am listening to a Rob Bell sermon and eating Indian food (it's my lunch break). Rob Bell is talking about the church calling us to reflection and to not keep going in the frantic pace of life. He's using a metaphor about deep diving. Today has gone by way too quickly. I'm not at all sure where the time went. The office is empty. And I am here reviewing a resource from 1987. Great things happened in 1987, I'm sure, but I think I may need to hunt around for a more current resource. I was 12 in 1987. 12 was a tough year.
