I'm thinking I am going to put my old layout up. I care not for this one.

So, I'm applying for University of Michigan's theatre program. What does that mean? Let's take a look at all the facts, shall we?

1. The deadline date for applying to the theatre department is Dec. 1.
2. You need a shitload of stuff to apply to the theatre department.

So. Yeah. ( Read more... )

I believe in you and I hope you make it!
It would be so cool if you were in Ann Arbor--
AND I've heard that it's a lot easier to transfer than to get in start from hs, so that should give you more hope.

Thank you! I can't wait to see you either! And when we aren't both in depressive states from our scenes. :D

I got a 26, U of M can just suck it because those aren't bad scores.
also, their website says that a little under half of their freshmen class got 24-29 on their ACTs.

If you're seriously thinking of transferring to a good school for theatre, you should honestly also consider WMU while you're at it. I'm not just saying this because I attend there, but we really are one of the top ranked theatre schools in the nation right now and there are also a ton of theatres to work at in downtown Kalamazoo during school and the off-seasons as well. I'm a second year and I've already got a paid internship lined up for myself this summer working at a theatre downtown, and our performance students are traveling to the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland this summer to perform an original play we produced last year with the Tectonic Theatre Company called 'Good Death'. We are always having master classes with professional actors and designers and well, we've got some amazing rep going on for us right now. Just thought I'd recommend it!

I would really like to do that, but the thing is, I don't have the money to apply to a bunch of places. I'm applying to U of M and Columbia, and that's it. McNutt is telling me to apply to all of these other schools, but she doesn't realize that I have less than 200 dollars to my name right now. It's just not going to work out.

Well if you decide you can apply to another somehow, it's a helluvalot cheaper than those two as well. ;) But don't worry about it!
