Thanks for the comment. I love old buildings and there's a lot of them around Johannesburg lending the opportunity for great photographs. This is a real wild west city that has its roots deep into the gold mining history of South Africa. Egoli - The City of Gold. Unfortunately there's a lot of areas that are simply not safe to go to due to the high level of crime....

It's unfortunately not stained glass but accidental photoshop wizardry. It's amazing what the program can do. There is no plans going to refurbish the complex as far as I am aware. It will cost millions which no-one can afford in the current economic climate. There has been other successful urban regeneration projects in the Newtown area of Johannesburg where the old produce market has been turned into Museum Afrika and the Market Theatre as well as in Stanley Avenue in Milpark. I'll go there soon and post some photo's of this very interesting city. Not the most beautiful in South Africa but a real cosmopolitan melting pot and the economic hub of Southern Africa.
