At work, my colleagues and I use Skype to IM each other, and I'm in the habit of typing "knock knock" to someone just to see if they're at their desk and in a position to answer some questions. But at first, I would get a lot of people asking "who's there?"-- which is odd, because my Skype ID has my name, and we work together, so they already know
