What the fuck?!?

I am watching some freaked out show called "Dexter".  One word.  Disturbing.  Some kind of "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" meets "CSI:Miami". With a twist of filmnoir narration but without Horatio's oneliners.  Disturbing. That's what I said.

dexter, csi, creepy

I want to see Dexter!

Julie Benz is in it, and that's good enough reason to watch it, I think.

For some reason I never warmed to Julie Benz. But she seems to be playing a totally different role in this show so I'll give her a chance. might grow to like her.

Best show of the year! It just had it's season finali here. I've been obsessed with that show.

I have no problem with Dexter "taking the trash out". ;-)

I'm still not sure what to think about it. Still just not believing someone actually came up with the idea for this show. Have to watch more to form a solid opinion.

It's based on the book series "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay.

I don't know if you've watched 6 Feet Under (and if you haven't, you've got a major treat ahead of you), but one of the characters from that show plays Dexter. He's terrific and I'm looking forward to seeing him in this new show. Unfortunately, it's not playing in Canada yet, or at least on a channel I can see, but I am a bit worried about the gore.

I watched Six Feet Under and I agree, the actor is very good. He somehow makes this character both evil and super likeable at the same time.

Kind of a perverse combination ;-)

I've actually tried a similar approach with a timer, making them stay after class until they have made up for lost time. Worked pretty well, but as I constantly get new students into my classroom each period I can't use it unless there is free time after the class in question. All in all, around 100 kids go through my classroom each day :-)

Oh, I don't know. I think each age has it's specific problems you have to deal with. Takes different types of people to be good at teaching different age groups I think. I have no end of respect for people like you who take on the younger kids, I've tried it as a substitute now and then and I just don't know what to do with them. *relives horrible moments subbing in 2. grade*
