I'm not going to immediately cancel but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't considering it. The addition of the major labels was a non-event to me as most of the major-label material that I'm interested in I already own. Most likely on CD. The loss of the three big Indie labels could be the deal killer for me. Most of what I've been listening to this year has come from those labels and the loss of them is huge (to me, anyway).
I've been with eMusic for many years now and I suppose all good things eventually come to an end. This may be the end of them for me. But I'll give 'em a couple of months yet.
The thing I'll miss the most is the experimenting with different acts that I did when I had more music downloads per month. Now that every track costs between .79 - .99 I'm going to be far less likely to take a gamble on a track than I did when I was paying a fraction of that. Some of the artists that I've been digging the most have been stumbled upon and now the odds of that happening are reduced.
I had put my account on hold awhile back and was somewhat surprised when the automatically re-upped me at the end of the hold period. But then they offered me the second month free, so that's where I'm at now
