On German citizenship

For years I've heard conflicting things about my eligibility for German citizenship. My situation is thus:

I was born in 1981, in Australia, to German nationals. Simply being born in Australia was enough to grant me Australian citizenship.

My entire family was naturalised Australian in 1984. I wasn't, because I was already an Australian citizen.

Well, rather than being allowed to work only in Germany and only for a year, I could theoretically live and work in the EU indefinitely. Any EU country, not just Germany.

It doesn't just impact my trip, but could also have a massive impact on the rest of my life.

ahh so you currently just have the standard aussie-going-to-germany visa, but now you could potentially be just another European in Germany? That's awesome!
