Room 234/236: Friday late afternoon to evening

Jan 05, 2007 13:46

Parker opened up the doors to both rooms, set out the half-vanilla, half-chocolate cake from Jeff, God of Biscuits, and put a sign outside the hallway of 236:

Happy 18th Birthday to ME

Come on in and have some cake!

Booze and prezzies welcome.

Then sat down to contemplate her present from her father. Who'd sounded ridiculously pleased about ( Read more... )

Weiss arrived with Parker's gift -- something practical and in no way indicating romantic feelings or attraction. *cough*

"Weiss!" Parker grinned when she saw him, bouncing up on her toes for a moment. "I wondered where you were, yay! Oooo, prezzzzie."

"Yeah, just a little something to help with your project," Weiss said. "Sorry I didn't get time to wrap it." He handed her the case.

Parker restrained herself a bit, then carefully opened the case. "Oh, awesome. Thank you! I was wondering if I was going to have to keep borrowing yours for a while, and was trying to ask you were I could get a set of my own."

"Here at Weiss and Company, we train our felons with the very finest in precision instruments," Weiss said. "So. Did the first person who tried to give you a birthday spanking get their colon ventilated?"

"Amazingly? No one's attempted that." Parker smirked. "I got hugged by two people, though. But since one of them was experiencing the glee of hockey tickets, and the other one is Bridge, I let them go unmaimed. For now." She picked up a pick and twirled it, looking gleeful. "Oh, we're gonna have fun, little instrument of destruction."

"It's amazing how many people you managed to cram in here," Weiss said.

"I know. Half of them are new and just here for the cake, anyway. I figure I can lull them into complacency now, and bring out the bitch later, ordering them to get me drinks because I'm the Birthday Girl." Parker grinned. "If I'd put on dance music, someone might have gotten hurt."

"This is why overweight white men have perfected headbobbing dance. No limbs to the face. It's perfect for a night of no-contact techno," Weiss said.

Parker cocked her head at him, and said, "But you're good at full-contact. Remember?" She took step closer and hummed Tango Roxane at him, smirking a little.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

"Heh. Yeah... I... um... so... let's talk about you and your new year, huh? Dating prospects?"

Okay, that subject change? Very fast. Hmm.

"One particular one, yes. I've met a few of the newbies, but they look... so young." Parker shook her head, widening her eyes, then shrugging. "So. Maybe. I'm not sure he's interested."

"One? C'mon, Parker. You can't limit the field this soon into the year," he said, mimicking her words from yesterday. "I mean, the school's got lots of guys who are smart, funny, and with a wide range of skills. You could have your pick of anyone. Solid guys with shoulders for leaning on and stuff... Don't just... don't just stick to the one guy. Keep your eyes peeled, huh?"

That was not desperation or flailing. Swear to God, cool as a cucumber. Well, at least he followed Jack's instructions properly. Maybe.

Parker's internal thinking finally became audible. "Hmmmmmm." She grinned at him, crossing her arms. "Maybe you have a point. Maybe it's too soon to be making these choices. After all, if the guy I'm thinking of thinks I'm crazy, or evil, or you know, just likes cute little blondes, I'm screwed." Parker looked thoughtful. "And I do like shoulders. Mmmm."

"Any guy worth half a dollar in this school would be crazy to date some cute little blonde instead of the hot, sassy brunette," Weiss said. Oh god, please shut me up. "I guess." Niiiice.

Parker's urge to victory dance was now so strong, she was *really* sorry there wasn't music going to give her an excuse. "Ergo, if he doesn't want me, he's worthless? Niiice, Weiss." She grinned, then looked mock-pouty-sad. "I can think of one I may have to hunt down and trip onto a mattress, at least. Constable Fraser."
