The last week had been about getting the backlog of work out of the way after the fun that was Bridge and Xander's wedding and reception. So, Parker'd had a great time at graduation 2008. She'd seen old friends, mocked Isabel's brother, watched the faerie vs. student fight, congratulated Isabel and mocked Max some more, congratulated Daisy, heard good news from Angela and weird news from Bel, and gotten the weird news contradictedAnd now, she was in Greece. The line to get into The Bridge was snaking around the block, so Parker, Elizabeth, Nourhane, Selim and River were amusing themselves trying to figure out how to get around the bouncer and get inside already.

"Bribery, bludgeoning, or blackmail?" Parker asked River. "Which do you prefer?"

Last weekend's fun with Isabel and Anders had concluded with amusing phone calls, and now she had River's visit to enjoy. Monday morning, it was back to the grindstone of daily classes and interning. But at least they'd have fun for the next couple days.

Hopefully, River wouldn't end up traveling through a war zone the way Daisy had.

Three hours after talking to River, Parker was standing outside a 7-11 with a large Diet Pepsi in hand, and a very annoyed look on her face. "Now will you tell me where we're going?" she asked, glaring at Zero. "Because I've been good, but the gas stations are getting fewer and farther between, and I'm seriously wondering about this...."

Parker got to the restaurant early to check out the view, and get a good booth. Annoying to be back in the land of the free, etcetera, and not be able to get a martini, but at least there was good steak to be had ( Read more... )
