Room 234/236 - Sunday morning, 9am-ish

Jun 10, 2006 22:56

"Ow. Ow. Ow." Parker hobbled out of bed, and examined the array of bruises on her legs and arms, and the road rash on her hands, grimacing. "Ow."

It had been a weird couple of days. )

There was only one place Jack was going in the morning, and that was to see Parker. And he really didn't care if he woke her up.

He took a deep breath and rapped on the door.

Or maybe sleep was going to have to wait. Parker retrieved a coldpack from the mini-fridge, and went to open the door. Uh-oh. "Hey. Morning, Jack."

Jack stared at her in silence, taking in the injuries, the cold pack, the way she was standing. "That's about what I expected." His voice was absolutely expressionless, but his eye were dark with anger. "You were out hunting mummies last night, weren't you?"

"Frak." Parker knocked her head against the door, then took a step back so he could come in. "Yes. I'm fine. Really. Didn't even have to see a doctor."

Rory had woken much earlier than she anticipated, and stayed curled up in bed with Anakin where it was warm and safe and she could just think.

And think she did.

Which would be why she was standing outside Parker's door, in her rumpled clothes from the night before, knocking tentatively.

Parker groaned, crawled out of bed, grabbing another icepack on the way, and opened the door before asking who it was.

Then she stopped dead, blinking. "Rory."

"So here's the thing," she started, not looking at Parker. "I'm never, ever going to get over what you said about Anakin, or what you said to him. But...I miss you. And I already had to watch you die one time this week and then I was worried about you last night and I really just think we should be friends again because this blows."

Parker studied her a moment, expressionlessly, then moved aside so Rory could come in. "That much we can agree on, at least."
