When he arrives at the place Charles Xavier calls 'Division X', the first thing that Erik does is separate himself from the group. He doesn't feel like talking politics with humans who don't really understand what it's like to be outcast. One of the nice advantages of being small and wearing exceptionally good shoes is how quietly you can move down a hallway. Quietly enough that his hand on Erik's shoulder is perhaps the first indication that he's there.

Erik's gut reaction is to hurl the nearest metal object at Charles' head as he spins around.

He misses this time, of course, but it's a near thing. Hopefully that vase wasn't something that would be thrown out over a dent or two.

Charles's eyes scan back towards the vase before looking over at Erik.

"A man to announce my presence to, then. My apologies for startling you."

A faint smile curls on his lips.

"Unless I deserved that... what did you throw exactly?"

"Vase," he says evenly.

"I don't imagine there are in fact many people that appreciate being snuck up on." Some people are just too spineless to say anything.

He recognizes Charles but doesn't necessarily fully acknowledge him. This whole situation is still strange and foreign, and he still doesn't trust anyone -- least of all this man who invaded his mind.
