You could put them on kitty runs! ..like dog runs.. leashed and entirely ineffective to a cat who's BORN TO RUN FREE! ... I tried "leashing" up Olivia with her harness and attaching it all to a pole of my garage door rail of my townhouse whilst washing my car recently... well actually the car had already been washed, I just needed to scramble around inside and attempt to dust and polish it up. It was a really gorgeous day and I frequently feel guilty that she's strictly an indoor cat... but within a few moments of me walking away, she sat there listening and looking around intently until something I picked up, or some bag I rustled, was just a bit too much stimulation and she twists and bends in ways I didn't know possible to slip herself out of her harness and run to the back of the garage and wait nervously by the door for me to open it. I'm not a parent either, a decision I made around age 15, when I was informed that duct tape was not an acceptable babysitting option.
