I once saw some Amish people using the self-checkout at the grocery store. That seemed somewhat counter-intuitive to me. But being that it was off an interstate exit, I assume they also didn't drive a horse & buggy to get there.
As the story (appearing Sunday) about these VIP tours points out, like everyone else, not all Amish have the exact same beliefs. Some may be less anti-technology than others. Though you're right, it does also seem strange.
That makes some sense, although it was somewhat akin to seeing someone wearing a yarmulke chowing down on a cheeseburger & milkshake - if you're devout enough to wear the accoutrement (esp in public), you should be following the strictures.
WTF do I know though, a cheeseburger & milkshake sounds really darn good to me.
