Friday Puzzle #132 - Holiday Hunt

Dec 23, 2011 10:00

As announced earlier this week, today's Friday Puzzle is a four-part holiday treasure hunt for my fans that travels through some of my past work including my books.

Each step will yield an answer or code that you should enter as a web address. Specifically, go to

I don't think i is fair that "it will cost you some time" if you haven't bought your book :(

I had a very good reason for making solvers try to go to that location, actually (not the one you might be thinking). I guess I do vainly think my #1 fan should always have my books handy, so having to wait at most 15 minutes to get what you need doesn't seem too harsh a penalty.

Well, the other thing is that people are traveling and thus might not have your books handy. Or they've already solved them and discarded them.

15 minutes isn't that much, given I have what I need, but spent HOURS so far staring blindly at it without getting to part 4 yet :P And this after blowing through the first two parts VERY quickly... - ZM

Maybe I'm a bit dumb because nobody seems to have a problem with part 2...
Am I missing a clue ? Is the title a clue to a solving method ?
There seem to be way to many possibilities...
Do I really need the book to solve this one ?

Nice, motris thinks i'm cute... ;-)
but still feel a bit dumb...

Cute? Ah you hit one of the Easter egg links. You don't need my books persay, but every puzzle I've made with that title looks a certain way. Fill in the missing things with something natural (and email if you need a more specific clue).

Once the deadline passes, I'd be interested in seeing the rest of those Easter Eggs. (BTW, it's "per se," roughly translated as "through itself.")

Now I'm wishing I had more than a handful of easter eggs. Watching the site names people are trying suggests I missed some fun chances!
(BTW: Thanks - I guess I didn't mean what urban dictionary defines as "An incorrect spelling of per se. Used by those who do not know its proper use.")

Solved Cupid's puzzle but then I feel like Phil Collins...
Oh well at least then I guess I have a perfect body & face ;-)
Do regular visitors here have a clue what to do or are we all equally frantic ?

I had to e-mail for further hints. Now I'm his #4 fan for the year!

(Phil Collins?)

I can feel me hinting in the air tonight?
Since I've identified a lot of fans but always want more, I'll post a sample dance card for another grid tomorrow, again at the magic 1 PM EST time for fairness
