I think it should be pretty obvious by now that the entire Star Wars franchise has finally run out of steam. The carefree energy and not-quite-serious tone that made the first Star Wars movie such an irresistable hit was hard enough to sustain through three movies, let alone six, or the nine originally envisioned

I DO know people who have raved about this latest Star Wars movie. They've seen it five times, they love it, its' the best ever. When I mentioned that I thought the acting sucked, they looked at me like horns were growing out of my head. Honestly, I think there are people who appreciate movies on one level, and then the folks who want to see things blow up. Sort yourselves accordingly. ;)

Hey, I like to see things blow up too, but FIVE TIMES? That's a bit much just to see two huge battle-cruisers pounding each other side-by-side like it's the Napoleonic Wars. Besides, watching things blow up is better when there's decent acting around the effects. Where's Bruce Willis when we really need him?
