Dyson is my kind of guy too. I really like him with Bo, but secretly in my heart of hearts, it's Kenzi I like him with most.
Meme: Mosca, I want you to write this story for me: The story of Stiles Stilinski and how he became the non-wolf den mother to the Beacon Hills werewolf pack.
While you were away -- I know, that's a pretty big time frame -- I wrote a Vampire Diaries/Lost Girl Bo/Alaric crossover. Once you've seen all of season 1 of LG you won't be spoiled for anything Riding on a Rocket to the Planet of Sound
I'm a little in love with Phillip Phililps, I must confess. It was delightful to see him pick up Heejun and spin him around in a hug after Heejun got into the top 24.
RIGHT?? With all the instrument switching and the intensity and the gorgeous everything.
Elise and Erika are totally my favorites out of the girls, and Skylar and Jessica are both super fun and talented! If I had to choose between Elise and Phillip it would be a toss-up right now; we'll see how the season progresses...
Just wanted to say how much I love your skating fics... read lots in 2010 and have been re-reading a bunch lately after coming back to skating after drifting away for a year
I presume you just mentioned the American junior worlds medallists you like, because you only mentioned half of them :P
Sharing the impatience for worlds - hope Jeremy does well and will be rooting for Adam too because I want them to get the third spot back - I'm British but obviously most of our skaters are nowhere near the top international standard and all three of my men's favourites are American so patriotism goes out of the window for me when it comes to skating - all my favourites are from North America or Russia :P Hoping the ice dance goes off without any controversy - I like both T/S and M/C so rather glad I missed the GPF controversy as it was happening.
Glad you've been enjoying my writing! It's always great to hear that someone's still reading my stuff. :)
I listed the skaters whose medals I'm most excited about. I make jokes about my patriotism because I'm a fan of the skater, not the country, but so many of my favorites are American right now.
I shamelessly only give a shit about US ice dancers anymore, and I think we'll see another North American sweep this year. My favorites in singles are more diverse: I adore Takahashi, Hanyu, Amodio, and Abbott, while Rippon's skating, cute as he is, doesn't do much for me. I'd love to see Wagner or Suzuki stomp off with gold but suspect it's Kostner's year.
*nodnod* My American bias on the men's side is a result of the fic I was reading when I first got into skating... it was ages before I actually watched any vids (I only got into skating when my friend, who'd been drawn in by Johnny and Evgeni's free skates in Vancouver, eventually dragged me into it too, although I could remember the SLC pairs controversy from when I was younger) so I sort of picked Johnny on personality rather than skating, and then I ended up semi-adopting Jeremy because I wanted someone who was actually skating and I couldn't help liking him from his twitter (personality winning again) and it's got to the point where I can't not support him even though it's gonna make Nats next year hard because I'll have three guys I want to do well. Then I knew I needed someone younger to support too, so I pulled up the results from the 2010 US Junior Nats on wikipedia and opened youtube... and you probably won't be amused that I chose Josh over Jason, but I did, and the decision got reinforced when I went to the JGP in
( ... )
Seeing a skater live is a big factor in getting attached to them. It 100% explains my whole Ryan Bradley thing, for instance - I've seen him at two Skate Americas and the US Nats that he won.
I'm partial to Jason not only because I like his style of skating but also because he skates for the club I was a member of when I used to skate. A lot of US figure skating is organized by club affiliation, so that's a big deal, especially for a club that doesn't send a huge number of skaters. He's my hometown boy.
The current crop of junior-level ice dancers is underwhelming across the board. The one team that really caught my eye at US Nats this year was too young to compete at Junior Worlds.
I think you and I have different taste in skaters, but that's not a bad thing!
I think "Lauren and Dyson take a woodworking class" is the Lost Girl equivalent of "Claudia and Jinks eat popcorn and talk about boys." And you know what happened the last time we made these plans.

I'm pretty sure that den mother fic would make a bunch of people happy. Maybe when the show comes back and I get re-obsessed.

I am looking forward to a second season of Teen Wolf, I saw some shots of the cast doing a table read earlier today.

Really, all of my Idol crushes are on girls this year. Erika, Elise, Skylar, and Jessica are all fabulous.

Also, as noted, he is basically a lesbian anyway.
