Today is the last day to sign up for femslash10! And we are closing them right at midnight, because tomorrow I have an all-day IM date with callmesandy to do the assignments. I got lost in the music and swayed like an indie kid, totally out of place and not caring.

They played Adam Lambert on Rage (indie/alternative vid show - I say indie/ alternative because who the hell is indie these days?) here and I also heard him on the indie/alternative in-flight radio station on Qantas. Which is weird. I mean, they also play him on mainstream radio but it's like he has a little bit of crossover appeal.

So swaying=totally fitting.

Also, you saw ADAM LAMBERT!! OMG! JEALOUS!!!

I am popped out.

Adam's music fits in very well with the other stuff I've always listened to, and there's certainly an independent/small-label glam/electro scene. But I definitely felt like I came from a different school of concert behavior than the rest of the audience.

I could write a long post on how there is still very much an independent music scene, and it's still meaningful and distinct from mainstream music. What's really happened is, we've gone back to the way things were 20 years ago, where there's room for musicians to start out small and get discovered because people like their music, and therefore there's more diversity and quirkiness in mainstream music than there's been in a while.

I can't participate this time around because of my diss, but I want to tell you how much I appreciate that you put Stargate Universe on the sample list of wildcard fandoms. That really means a lot to me.
