Okay, I'll bite.

Comment with a story I've written, and I will tell you one thing I knew, learned, or wondered about while writing the story that didn't make it onto the page. Assuming, of course, that I can remember. No guarantees that I remember anything about stories written before 2006, although you can certainly try ( Read more... )

Oh, ha, that was a pinch hit for femslash08, and I wrote the whole thing in a little over an hour while eating breakfast before work. It feels like there's a lot of world building in that story, but basically I stole Octavia Butler's postapocalyptic America from the Parable novels and skimped on details.

I don't remember much about writing that story. It was sort of the happy flipside of "Sold You Back Your Outrage." I think I had a more detailed Johnny/Ben sex scene in my head at the time but chose not to write it down.

I was so tempted to as about "Sold You Back Your Outrage" but I think I've used it on other memes. During one of the interviews icenetwork showed between events, Ben talked about hiking in Seattle and all I could think about was that story.

That story is the closest I have ever written to autobiographical fanfic. The only way I could deal with my emotions after 2007 Nats was to look at them through someone else's eyes. I considered making it slashy but thought it would resonate more deeply if Ben was straight in the story - if he was looking at it as a violation of ethics and human decency, not as something that oppressed him personally.

Everybody Else's Girl

And if that's too old, I'll see what I can dig up that's more recent..
