Hey, Misti, totally off-topic, have you ever done sprite art/animation? It looks like you've got Photoshop down cold, which would be a big help.
Reason I ask is I'm working a gig where we could use some more sprite artists. Pay is reasonable (yes there is pay!) and deadlines right now are "sometime this year plz!" I can forward your contact information to the people-in-charge if you're interested.
If I have, I didn't know that that's what it was called. LOL!
Googling the term, I can say that I've *edited* a few sprites a few times, just because I wanted to change the colors, or remove an accessory or something like that, but I haven't actually created them myself. I'm really not comfortable in my create-an-image-from-scratch abilities, but I'm becoming more comfortable with altering things that already exist. So if you're looking for someone who can alter existing images, or if I can have some bases to kind of fiddle around with, I definitely think it's something I can learn to do... and I'd love to have a reason to learn how to manipulate images a little more subtle-y.
Right now, we're creating a ton of sprites from scratch. There are a few sprites already done, but I've had to spend time manipulating them to animate them. We're definitely looking for folks who can create them from scratch and animate them. (Sizes are 65x65 pixels, 75x75 pixels, 150x150 pixels, and then even larger for boss monsters. So, smaller than what you recolored, by and large.)
So I don't want to tell you, "no, that's not what we need," but right now, it isn't. /: We do need folks to make them from scratch. There is concept art for the sprites, but not sprite-style art -- I'm going to be doing some of that too, over the next couple weeks, since we're in the process of tearing the house apart and I don't expect to have much computer access.
If you change your mind, try whipping up a few basic sprites of just anything and let me know -- the guys will want to see your skills. (:
