I read the first few but not the last two. I never liked Harry and having books about him were understandably hard for me to get through, even if I liked some secondary characters. My sister filled me in on this last book. I hated Dumbledore the moment he gave over the house title (or whatever it was) in the first book despite the fact the Slytherins (sp?) really won it so finding out he died didn't bother me. Snape was my favorite character when I cared. From the way my sister described it, Snape was fulfilling a promise by keeping Draco alive through killing Dumbledore. Sure, killing him seemed like a bad thing, but Snape was following through with his promise bad or good I was always on Snape's side in the books. Still not going to read them though. I might watch the movies just because I still like Snape and Draco and Ron.
I like the secondary characters a lot better than the primary, really. The thing about Snape was that he was *complicated,* unlike the rest of the characters. And now he's just as one-dimensional as everyone else. Phooey.
