did the writers intend for Vaughn to really be dead earlier in S5 and then bring him back due to fandom hysteria?

That's the rumour. Then again, considering how much Abrams was reportedly in love with the Syd/Vaughn ship, he may just not have been able to bring himself to let them end it. (Pity; I for one might have watched longer if they hadn't kept shoving S/V down our throats in S3 on top of all that season's other badness.)

I was really sad Vaughn didn't even *beat* Sark one last time. Just pointed his gun at him like the big pussy he is. ::sigh::

Do people actually watch this show for Sydney?
