Lutheran Hutch really seems to be standard fanon. Funny, though, while drafting this post I happened to read one fic (The Cost of Love by Alexis Rogers) in which he was Catholic. Can't remember any others, off-hand.

Hey, our icons look almost like a matching set! Mr. Ty-Ty and Mr. Marlene!

I enjoy including elements of Starsky's Jewish faith and heritage and Hutch dipping into the Bible or going to church in my stories--it seems right to me. But I once read a story (forget the title) where Hutch was so guilt ridden after Starsky was shot that he went off to become a Catholic priest. That I didn't buy for a moment.

Huh, that priest fic does sound pretty far-fetched (more like Hathaway). As a non-religious (even a little anti-religious) person who was raised superficially Lutheran, I pretty much project that onto my headcanon!Hutch. I really love it that they left it all open in the show (probably to make their target market as large as possible), so we can each have our own way and feel it fits canon.
