Am I God to my cells?

I've heard that we're entirely new people every seven years due to cells being replaced. Yet I retain my memories from years ago and can still experience the emotions I felt back then when I think of those things. I still remain myself. We're more than our cells.

No wonder so many people believe in Christianity. It's comforting to have an all-knowing parental figure out there who will take care of everything for you and allow you to be a child again. It's a wonderful idea. But no one stops and thinks what it's like for the god in question to have to constantly be the responsible one. So when do we grow up ( Read more... )

Do each of my individual atoms have souls? Would that be fair? Will "I" split into billions upon billions of tiny souls? Or is it a whole that is still "me" and still remembers what each cell felt, like a phantom limb?
