i saw this sat afternoon.

well what can i say? it was pretty much one, giant, continuous fireball. i was on the edge of my seat at the effects, and eye rolling at the science.

i had a ball.
the only things i didnt like were the "warm human moments of grief and loss" they detracted from the overall IMO.

My favorite part in the movie was when anyone said anything scientifically impossible, some other scientist would say, "That's impossible!" I also loved Cusack's lampshading when he said, "What are the odds?"

Great disaster porn made greater by the fact that it didn't take itself seriously.

I love that I where Cusack and his family lived was right by me. So, I saw my neighborhood sink into the sea when the pier went under.

Saw it yesterday. It was great!!! I'm glad the Russian guy bought it. The mistress wasn't the only one who deserved it. Found the creepy radio guy super funny as Yellowstone was blowing up. The airplane rides had me going "Up! Up! Got to get higher!!" while motioning with my hands. I agree with you Morr. Lots of explosions was great as well as the funny parts. Lots of folks seem to not use their common sense which made for a high death toll. Great movie!!
