This Game We Play

This is the result of playing a game about wine with champagnesly. I know nothing about wine (untrue but basically accurate), and Sly knows a lot, so I asked Sly to describe what wine would best represent what Hetalia character. Then, for kicks and giggles I went on thecolorof.com, searched for the wine in question to get the "pure" color of any given wine.

(I'm not drinking pinot grigio--the Rhone rose seemed to go better with the mood of the afternoon, but perhaps you'll indulge me anyways in some romantic purple prose

So much yearning someone has been watching too much Richard Armitage, haven't they?, it's adorably painful. Ludwig, just kiss him already! Or, since this is Der Plum's* little brother, Italy, clue up and make him a very happy man!

"His hand was still around the nearly empty glass and his thoughts were still drifting alarmingly off-track" I'll bet I know what that track was. Oh Ludwig. So restrained. It's not going to kill you. But it's so cute.

You're really exploring interesting povs. I think that this is AWESOME.

*I think actually plums are feminine in German. Die Pflaume. But Gil doesn't need me to give him a harder time than I already do.

Shhh. I may have been in a romantical mood. North & South just brings out my latent penchant for yearning and repressed desire. So Northern European. Feliciano is just waiting for Ludwig to catch up a little bit before he kisses his German Plum.

I thought I might do one for each that you draw! So Romano next!

Can't wait to see America, really, so excited.

Trying new pov is interesting. I think I have come to the sad conclusion that Come Again may have to until the anxious excitemet surrounding my new job settles and I can focus again :p

Do you think you will do France or Netherlands?? :D

And no one does repressed better than Ludwig. <3 So many beautiful little lines in that bit. You just kind of want to swoon.

"He tried and failed to keep the flush from his cheeks when Feliciano smiled at him and pressed his fingers over Ludwig's and brought his lips to Ludwig's glass and tipped the wine into his mouth, sighing with that easy pleasure that always made his skin feel too tight."

And of course, speaking of smiles:

"smiled at him in that way that made the corners of his eyes crinkle and told him to take the wine to his heart and be happy like an Italian." - Hint hint. All love for this. Oh Ludwig, you can observe the minutest details and still fail.

All good things take time.

Francis is a little trickier, because there's the dual wine aspect, but I think I have an idea for him. Although I might be doing Canada next, just because I like the idea of doing sibling pairs.

You guys make me curious about wine and I'm mostly a (Belgian) beer person XD. I really enjoy trying to imagine the taste and the feeling of it though.

This'll be good education for me, I'm sure :)
