My dogs are rocket scientists.

Ok, that's a great big lie.

I make them sleep in a wire kennel to keep them safe from eating blankets and other things while I am asleep. I have been teaching them to go upstairs and get in the kennel by themselves and then I come up and close the door and latch it. It only took me a week to teach them this and that ( Read more... )

I went to Petsmart and talked to a nice lady who was quite aware of the pumpkin and dog thing and feeds it to her cat by mixing it in the gooshy food.  They make a dog food with pumpkin right in it. They make loads with sweet potato which is pretty much the same thing for this purpose according to the very nice lady and some folks on the internet.

Well, its looking more and more like the poor dog "only" has irritable bowel syndrome and needs more fiber than is generally found in dog food to bind him up, so to speak ( Read more... )

One thing I was told to do was to give the dog somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 cup of canned pumpkin every day. Not pumkin pie filling, which Wal Mart still has loads of, but pumpkin. I dressed it up. He ate it, the problem went away ( Read more... )

I have finally figured out why he keeps getting sick. I caught him licking the drain to a compost bin today. Tomorrow, I have to figure out how to get rid of two 50 gallon bins of frozen compost and the next day, take him back to the vet again ( Read more... )
