The horror of the clothes

Besides the old lady clothes, my mom has sweats and jeans and khakis and things that would be worn by anyone of any age, male or female. And she's lost 100 lbs. over the course of the last 3 years, so it comes in lots of sizes. My sister just won a really awesome coat in this bizarre lottery. I got about 10 pairs of pants

*nodnod* I have two and a half pair of jeans I can wear that aren't too big at the waist. Half because I took them in and they're actually not too tight or loose.

Poor Sam. She's thirteen and is used to just going in the kids' dept and picking stuff out. Trying to find pants that fit drives her nuts now. The mantle is passed. ;)

i've gone to tank tops with a sports bra and a long jersy-knit (like tshirt material, but thicker) skirt at most times. with a sweater or jacket as necessary. (but i'm in a more southerly lcation than you, too)

monk's robes with an overcoat/overvest with servicable pockets. inside pockets, outside pockets, whatever you need.

and yes, women's clothing sizes IS a horror show!!
