*wandering around town looking for sketch subjects.*

*sees you wandering towards her and muses on what a great charcoal/chalk study you'd make.*

*Grabs a table and a pitcher of some hideiously spirit-laden cocktail*

Right.

*Wonders where best to start.*

You know the Numenoreans pretty well, yeah?

Yep. I even know the special word to get rid of Tar Palantir. :D

*Can't help but chuckle at that.*

And you've spent time with Adûnathôr? *coughs* What's he like?

He's a sweet kid. A little shaken up over Pharazon, naturally, but he's been spending some time over at ours and he's a bloody good chess player, I'll say that for sure. Plus the twins really like him too. They gave him a snail.

Why?

*rolls her glass between her hands and looks at the table.* :(

I'm 99.99999% sure that he's my eldest rehoused.

. . .

Oh.

Right.

Uhm...

More alcohol?

More alcohol?

*Smirks* That's just what Miro said when I told him.

*sighs* It's all so counter-intuitive. I want to rush over and help him but I can't because he doesn't know who I am and I don't want to upset his mother, she doesn't need this right now.

Must be the logical Feanorian solution to problems. Plus the pitcher's right in front so it's easier.

But yeah... that's... pretty grim. I'm sorry.

Although...

Well. Look.

I'm not sure HOW wise an idea this is, but then I'm an adolescent reprobate. But... yeah. You could always come over when Adunathor's at ours and... well... get to know him in a non-threatening way

*bites her lip*

*Tempted, ome!* It wouldn't look too staged would it? I don't want his mother to think I'm muscling in or anything, I don't want to take him away. I just want to make sure he's okay, see it for myself.

Well. You're family and we're mates, so there's no reason why you wouldn't drop by out of boredom.

Plus... well. We used to play chess, I play chess with Adunathor... it'd be a fairly good way to win at least a little of his trust and spend time with him.

*soft laugh* He always used to beat me back in Numenor.

mornaquilde June 23 2005, 15:47:26 UTC
Yeah, he's beat me a couple of times too. Takes after you, clearly. ;)

Must be a peredhel thing. Elros told me that Ada taught Elrond how to play back in Beleriand and he picked it up really quickly. He said he heard him ranting at Maedhros about it one night, "I'm engaged in a battle of wits with a child and I'm losing." *chuckles*

I blame my competence on being half-Maia. ;)

...

Come to think of it, that's also probably a source for a fair bit of my incompetence when you think about Olorin.

*laughs* He's probably very capable when he's not smoking shire-weed.

I was thinking about something else but I'm not sure if I should do it. I was thinking of, maybe, sending the Sceptre over to the Numenoreans. :\
