love in the time of science - chapter nine

So, another LitToS chapter. I’m apparently crap at the speedy update thing, but I swear I’m trying. I think speedy thoughts. My typing fingers just don’t always listen. But yeah, here it is. And there is very serious business MerDer conversation inside, so hopefully that’s a good thing.

Also, in unrelated news. The Office just about killed me ( Read more... )

Hee. I swear, writing this story is helping me get on board with Team Derek like nothing else! I'm actually starting to like the guy a lot. :D

Anyway, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the update. Derek really needed to get his problems with the whole drowning thing out in the air, and Mer is finally starting to see his side of things. Thanks for reading! :)

{The light bulb flirted with darkness but wouldn’t commit.}

I want to preface my comment with this:

Sometimes I can come up with a decently long review, with character analysis and comments and little observations here and there. Other times I drop in to say I've read it and wait for a while to process and come back. This may be one of those times; it may not.

It seems that my ability to write a long comment is inversely related to how much I loved the chapter. Don't get me wrong, some of the chapters I loved but was able to still be - somewhat - coherent in large doses. But for the most part? The deeper it hits, the less I can say.

So this short (relative to my previous comments) review? Is a good thing. There's usually one or two things that just... glow. It's weird, but that's the best word I can think of. By 'things' I mean parts of the story; a scene or two that resonate and seem to tie the whole story together. I'd have to say that this chapter, it was the supply closet ( ... )

Oh, thank you so much!! :)

I'm so glad you felt that way about the closet scene. It was actually one of the last things I decided on. The MerDer fight I've been planning since like day 1 of the fic, but the Olivia thing was very much a last minute addition to the chapter, so I'm happy it worked!! I think talking to her helped Meredith realize a lot of things and be more open to talking/fixing things with Derek. It kind of got her out of flight mode, which I think was something she needed.

Anyway, thank you again. :) I'm so glad you liked it.

HBR will have something incredibly erudite, logical and prosaic to say abou this chapter, once she has stopped crying. Don't hold your breath. Holy Crap !

First off, the office last night. AMAZING. Best Cold Opening EVER. I was laughing so hard.

Secondly this was AAAAAAMMMMAAAZZZZIIINNNGGG. And you need to update again like now because I need MerDer to do some more talking. (or yelling because that works to. communication is nice no matter how it is done between these too. yelling would be nice on the show too!)

Wasn't it hilarious? When Angela threw her cat into the ceiling and it came crashing back down. Too funny for words.

Also, thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked the update. MerDer communicating is one of my favorite things. And they will do even more communicating in the next chapter! Thanks for reading. :D

Wow. There's something I like to call the Royal Family of Fanfic Angst. With each chapter you're proving that you're their queen ( ... )

Thank you so much! I know I do have a terrible tendency to make things angsty. For some reason, it's much easier to write angsty MerDer than it is to watch them all angsted out on the show, I guess because here I know exactly where it's going. But yeah, I'm glad that you're still enjoying it even though there's a lot of angst. I swear it's supposed to make things better in the end. :D ( ... )
