So, another LitToS chapter. I’m apparently crap at the speedy update thing, but I swear I’m trying. I think speedy thoughts. My typing fingers just don’t always listen. But yeah, here it is. And there is very serious business MerDer conversation inside, so hopefully that’s a good thing.
Also, in unrelated news. The Office just about killed me

And at the same time, your writing is so beautiful and wonderfully detailed that I'm always instantly sucked into the angst and hurt and just can't let go. And of course, at the end I'm always left wanting more.
I guess I was a little too naive thinking that when Derek finally used his words, Mer would get it and things would be better. But though I totally understand why Derek felt the need to shout, I also get that shouting and Meredith do not combine well. I was a little disappointed with Mer when she did not let the word 'therapy' slip, but with her history, she obviously can't imagine that when Derek looks at her, he does not see a failure and disappointment. He sees a woman that he loves and is worried about, because he knows her well enough to know that her coping techniques are...not very effective.
The supply closet scene was beautiful. It was such a striking contrast to the shouty OCR scene and I loved how Mer's love and admiration for Derek found her way through the anger and hurt.
I hope that in the end Derek didn't show up because of work. If he's pouting somewhere, he deserves a smack up his head ;-)

And yeah, Mer didn't do the best job of responding to what Derek was saying. If she wasn't already so upset with him for kicking her off of surgery and the trial, I think she probably would've been a bit more receptive. As it was, she was being all snippy and then he got shouty, and it was pretty much doomed from the start. But...now that it's out in the open and she's admitted to him what happened in the water, I think that's got to make it easier for them to really talk about this stuff and understand each other.
I'm glad you liked the supply closet scene! It was fun to put Meredith in such a different environment right after her fight with Derek. And yeah, even though they're fighting and she's hurt and furious and all kinds of things, she still loves him so very much, and having to tell Olivia about Derek really helped her to remember that.
Anyway, thank you so much for reading and for your lovely feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
