Indeed it is, the "bird guide" is an often referred to book at Chez Abby.

The pheasant count this morning is up to 10: 3 males and 7 females. These colourful, but not terribly intelligent birds are not native to Canada, and like the cane toad in Australia, something someone thought was "a good idea at the time." Unlike the cane toad, there are natural predators to keep the population in line. Also, they haven't totally adapted to the environment and find it apparently, to be a bit of a struggle. They really look beautiful though, and particularly at this time of year.

The hardest part of that whole process was moving the furniture. I can say that I am very pleased with the results. Still have to do the office though.. but that is the place where moving the furniture will be the hardest, in between book case, futon, computer desk and filing cabinet. :)

The next project around here may be some painting.. or maybe the kitchen floor.. or... or.... well who knows?

I still think it was hilarious that one Friday evening, when Dan and I were sitting on the furniture piled up in one end of the room literally watching the paint dry - and we thought we were having fun.
