He did, didn't he? British record for 9 stage wins in his career, and he's only 24! Thing is, he needs to learn to go for the intermediate points, too, and then we'll have him in green next year.

In two Tours! Nine stages in two Tours and he could keep going for years.. I'm still somewhere up on cloud 9 :P

And yes he does, though interestingly for that brief bit in the middle of the Tour when Green seemed possible he did go for some and sprinted for lower positios so I guess maybe next year he might. He always said (whether it was true or not) he wasn't going for Green this year.

If he gets over Ventoux he'll be the first Manx man to complete the Tour *g*

He'll get over Ventoux if he has to carry his bike over the top! He sooooo wants that stage win on the Champs-Elysées on Sunday!

True enough! And his team want him there too and I'd be willing to bet the race organisers do as well *g*

I've no idea who that is and what it's about but if you're happy, I'm happy too. So yay? \o/

Seriously, you still don't know who Mark Cavendish is? He's just managed to beat the British record for the number of Tour de France stages won and he's only in his second Tour! And nobody was predicting a win for him today because he doesn't do hills only he totally did <3

:D:D:D:D:D

ps. I have maybe reading fic of That Show

Soon, you won't be able to control yourself and would want to know the canon and will be watching the eps. Seriously. Killing myself by laughing my head off here.

I LOVE YOU!!!!

Fic though, see, comes without all the downsides of the actual show! There's just porn and cuteness and all the rest isn't there! Or that's true in what I'm reading anyway.

Anyway right ow I'm still just gleeing about Mark <333333

Wow, that was an amazing sprint today! At first I was a bit disappointed that Millar's break got caught, but that made up for it.

When I first got into cycling I thought British cyclists would never again have as much success as in the Simpson/Hoban years, but I'm glad to be wrong. Plus it's nice to have an athlete in any sport who can feed my Manx patriotism. :)

It's just amazing, 9 wins in two tours! And I haven't seen today's finish eyt but just reading about it astounds me *g*

First Manx to finish the Tour! Mind you there's another Manx boy coming up the ranks now I think *mind goes blank as to name*

I just can't quite believe he's won FIVE stages and Wiggins is in fourth and...I still remember when Max Sciandri was as good as British cycling got :P

Yay for another Manxie. It's so rare that we are winning anything that it makes this even more unbelievable. :)

Oh, Max Sciandri. I used to follow his results so avidly, but I had completely forgotten about him for years until today.

Johnny Bellis! I knew I'd remember his name eventually *G* He's another of the kids with the GB Cycling academy lot, he rode in the Olympics last year I think.

He always used to come, like, 134th *g* you'd have to scan a long way down for his name but between Boardman and Millar he was kind of it!

I'm not going to lie, I totally did victory arms and spun around in my chair in the office when it flashed up on the BBC live text updater thing. I am so ridiculously pleased and I'm going to be glued to my laptop this weekend for the final two stages!!!

If I'd been in the office I almost certainly would have done *g* I definitely squeaked...

I'm watching tomorrow on TV, whatever else I'm suppose to be doing I just don't care!

YAY, MARK!

He continues to be AWESOME in every way. NINE. And OMG I LOVE HIM for hanging on over that climb and I LOVE how much he loves his team. *flail* (OMG HE SAID SORRY TO THOR I LOVE HIM SO FUCKING MUCH!)

Can I ask you a favour, though? Can you cut your Tour posts for the next two days because I'm away for the weekend and usually I don't get to watch until the highlights anyway and this came up on my flist while I was trying to avoid finding out what happened for today's stage. I'm trying to cling on to every last little happiness/excitement at the moment because sometimes life likes to kick my ass, so I'd really appreciate staying unspoiled, if that's okay.

HE SAID SORRY! He knows how to apologise and how to love his team properly and acknowledge them and he knows what he can do and kills himself to be worthyof his team and that was his best win and and and ♥

Sorry! It did occur to me after I'd posted maybe I should have cut but I'm a bit bad at remembering.

I'll cut over the weekend. Right up until you say you've watched anyway :P
