Your reading this month is very much in line with my tastes. I keep getting the Marie Brennan series for Fledge and of course read them myself. I have always liked Sheri Tepper although I can see that she might now come across as a little dated. If you like the Scott and Griswold series you might like KJ Charles' series A Charm of Magpies. You would also probably like Scott's Points series (The Novels of Astreiant) which she wrote with her now sadly dead partner Lisa Barnett.

I guess reading older SF you always have to be a bit aware of how changing conventions & social politics etc. make stories seem dated. The Gate To Women's Country was good enough that I only paused occasionally rather than got thrown out of the story (I'm now reading The Mote in God's Eye and WOW is it of its time in places- 1974)
