In Washington State where I went to high school, you can get your driver's license at the age of 16.  I was lagging behind a bit as I still only had my learner's permit at that age.  I was learning to drive (and had only gone out for a few lessons thus far) in my grandmother's automatic Toyota because my mother's car was a manual and I didn't feel

Congrats on the licence! It is definitely much easier to get around with children when you can drive, I hope you enjoy the added freedom :-)
