Rory pours the champagne anyway and hands Amy a glass. It’s his dream car; that’s reason to celebrate!

There’s also the fact the Doctor had chosen to save them from himself.

He cannot help but be grateful for that; as his eyes move to his wife, he wonders if she thinks the same.

She stands by the window, watching the park across the road. She bites her lip and Rory can’t help but wonder if she’s trying to wish that impossibly blue box into existence, trying to will it to land where it had last been parked when they’d seen it.

He puts his hand on her shoulder but she shrugs it off. He tries again.

This time, she doesn’t move and lets it stay.

He’s never spoken of the search for her after he’d learned she’d been switched for a ‘ganger and she’s never spoken of her time held by the Silents. He’s also never told her the decision he’d made after she’d forgotten she’d lived thirty six years without him.

He cannot help but feel the distance between them at those times.

And he cannot help but thank the Doctor for saving them.
