Title: All she could do was hold on.
Fandom: Offspring
Rating: (G)
Time Period: At the end of episode 9 (season 2).
Summary: She forgot everything else.
Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the
F. A. Q.).
I liked the end of this episode and felt I should capture it in words to show it as brilliantly as it was seen acted.

Patrick!
She regrets not answering the phone now, for not having checked those messages from Patrick. But she’d not cared, hadn’t wanted to speak to anyone - not even herself; her inner voice had been still.
She closes the door, dropping the flowers and envelope in the hallway. Then she runs barefooted, down the stairs, and only stops when she’s on the street. At the sight of him walking away, the questions she’d asked herself previously are forgotten. All she can see is him.
Walking away.
“Patrick!”
He turns and she runs into his arms. She doesn’t think, doesn’t ask herself what she’s doing. She simply acts, her lips against his and he hugs her close, his arms wrapping around her. She cannot think of being anywhere else at the moment. Just here, now, with Patrick. The warmth of this hug and simply knowing he is here. Life as opposed to the silence she had heard at the other end of the calls she had to make today.
All she can do right now is hold on.
